Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso has made direct contact in hopes of convincing Waldemar Anton to join the team.
The 27-year-old defender made an excellent performance for Stuttgart and play a part in leading the White Horse team to qualify for the Champions League next season and was name to the German national team for Euro 2024.
Recently, UFABET Sport Germany reported that Alonso, Bayer Leverkusen boss made at least two phone calls to the 27-year-old centre-half in an attempt to persuade the player to become a new member of the drug club.
However, every decision depends on Anton. In addition to Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund is also interest, as well as Stuttgart, who hope the player will stay with the team.
Even though there is a contract until the middle of 2027, the White Horse have almost no choice if the club pays the release clause of 20-25 million euros according to the conditions set, unless Anton agrees to settle down to play for Stuttgart himself.
After that, it will be interesting to see where Anton’s future lies. The player will have to wait to decide on his career once he’s finish with his duties at Euro 2024, but Alonso continues to make moves to capture the players’ hearts.
